Beaudroux
Beaudroux would like to welcome you to his online home page where you can view his online adventures, well ok, not online, but he still welcomes you.

Name: Beaudroux
AKA: Beau
Pronounced: Boo
ID: K9501
Breed: Bloodhound/Coon Hound Mix
Color: Blk/Tn
Sex: Male
Age:   old

He is the second official canine member to join our organization.

When we decided to reinvent our K-9 program, we started looking for a new bloodhound to replace our original K-9 Daisy, who was stolen many years ago.  The first step in rebuilding our K-9 program was with the adoption of Beau.  We would like to thank Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas for donating Beau to us.  In an agreement reach by both groups, it was determined to keep him in Texas and get him into search and rescue work.

Beaudroux - K9501

Since Beaudroux is a hound, you would expect him to excel at trailing, but he has also shown a unique interest in air scenting.  He is our lead dog for search and rescue operations at this time, though his training is never finished.  Though you would think he started life to be a searcher, we actually don't know about that.  He actaully had a hard life for the short amount of history we have on him.

You can read more about his history, as far as we know, on a special bio-page that we have created for him.  Why does he have a special bio-page?  Well most rescue dogs are raised from birth by their handlers, some may come from a local pound, but not very often to you find a dog that was a victim of a disaster and had to be rescued him or herself, then moving into a life of search and rescue work.

Beaudroux was one of thousands of animals that were rescued from the City of New Orleans, brought to Texas as a Katrina Evacuee.  He was very sick when he got here and some did not think that he would survive, but not only has he survived, but he has grown in his ability to help others.

This is truely a miracle story of a pup going from being on the verge of death to a happy, health dog with a wanting desire to help others.
